Summary | 0026362: DLC3 - Igors seem brain dead or sit around and do nothing
Description | Not sure if this is my lack of understanding of what their purpose is but from my playthroughs over the weekend I notice the 'Igors' ship type didn't really provide anything in the way of help/support. From my notes: - Spend too much time micro-managing them to help aid the necromancer - Not clear if the start was in an 'auto-build' / 'auto-help' state - Automation / condition logic needs tuning with respect to supposed purpose The general observation is that Igors followed the the Necormancer around but didn't provide any observable support. Is this a bug?

Igors are intended to basically be Engineers, which is what their description indicates. If you have examples of them not doing engineeringy things then some saves would be useful for debugging |
I've seen them do plenty except when I threw them into combat. And even then, they do sometimes heal depending on allowable heal timers after combat/damaged. And they even have a larger assist build range than the necromancers. Which I just realized I should complain about. It's kinda awkward moving the Necromancer close to a shipyard or Necropolis to assist with construction because sometimes they'll move juuust out of range. |
There's definitely something about the Igor I noticed but just haven't addressed yet It doesn't respond to the "m" key, which selects all combants. So I think it's missing a tag like "is_a_combantant_even_without_weapons" or something |
The last playthrough it just sat there whilst the entire fleet was getting pounded. I ended up having to micro-manage it, with little observable improvement. I think zeus might be onto something as that seems to explain the lack response I was seeing. |
I brought a wounded ship onto a planet with an Igor (in FRD), and the Igor immediately flew over to heal it. Was your non-helping Igor in FRD? |
*Igors now act like combtants (selected with fleet). They now have: is_combatant_despite_no_weapons="true" **Thanks to Sounds to pointing out these weren't responding to fleet commands without extra micro |
