Summary | 0024505: Force field dislocation for no apparent reason
Description | Force field some times moves away from its current location for no apparent reason. Steps to reproduce: 1. Load the save file. 2. Look at the planet Orbox and see the Dire Plasma Guardian approaching the force field covering the wormhole of planet Dalma as you unpause. 3. See that nothing happens at first. 4. After a while the force field will start moving away from the wormhole of Dalma for no apparent reason (the force field does not get destroyed, but simply pushed away). 5. After this the force fields moves back to its original location automatically. Steps to reproduce 2: 1. Load the save file. 2. Zoom in appropriately on planet Orbox so that you can see wormhole E-A and Dalma. 3. CTRL+Left Click to view planet E-A and wait a second or two (on normal in-game speed). 4. CTRL+Left Click to view planet Orbox. See the Force Field moving a little bit. 5. CTRL+Left Click to view planet E-A and wait a second or two (on normal in-game speed). 6. CTRL+Left Click to view planet Orbox. See the Force Field moving back to its original location or being moved away

This also keeps happening (see the video) after pausing. This is quite common and can be reproduced easily by looking away some other planet, pausing and then looking back at the planet where ships are flying towards a bubble force field. |
|
Does the description mention that the guardian does not have the "Norris Effect" capability? I haven't seen this but I know for a fact that your own ships can accidentally displace your own forcefields a little bit if they crowd too much around it, and if the enemy ship has the forcefield displacement ability which might be fitting since some AI ships are meant to be blockade breakers which counter forcefield blocking. |
|
Norris Effect is mentioned only if the ship has it, and the description of Force Field guardian does not mention it. I've seen the norris effect work just fine, but this bug works a bit differently. |
