Summary | 0023916: Expose the power rating of factions in the escape menu.
Description | This could be an off-by-default option and/or just break it out of the Debug Tooltips into a separate one or Game option. Point is, knowing your "power" (and your coalition's total power, ideally) would help accurately determine the expected Exowar response, and if one of your allies is perhaps more trouble than their worth, this will make that apparent. Ticker spurred by DEMOCRACY_DEMOCRACY playing with this on discord, and my need for the same info.

I deliberately chose to omit this because it will encourage unfun micro-optimizations. Things like trying to get as close to the breakpoint for the next tier of exo-units but not actually getting there. I think this is better as an opaque mechanic. Chris if you feel otherwise then feel free to change things to your taste. |
Does power not increase the frequency of the current tier of ExoWar units when it's short of upgrading tiers? If so, I actually do agree with you, badger, but the information problem remains. It.. might be the best case to leave that problem around, but that's obviously not awesome for someone like me who might (read: did) end up cutting literally harmless factions and not ever discover that actually <insert faction> really upgrades Exowars without doing <thing you got the faction for> to the same degree. *I* know about Debug Tooltips now, but that's not likely to be generally true for all the people who play like myself. |
I think you should assume that low impact factions aren't raising the Overall Power level.... |
I think this would be a good idea, since it would be useful to know which minor factions are triggering a large response without actually contributing that much in turn (like macrophages sometimes do). |
Macrophages generating power level is a bug |
Notifications (the one's that appear on the right side) already announce when an exagalatic unit is spawning and against what faction. This seems sufficient |
It doesn't feel sufficient for me, as I would rather see the number. |
