Summary | 0023906: Option to Increase/Uncap Range Circles
Description | If there are more than a certain amount of units that you're trying to see the range of (i.e.: you have 250 ships in your selection, or there's 300 enemy ships on the planet that you're trying to see with shift+z), then you won't be able to see the ranges of anything over the current cap. Since I personally won't be affected performance-wise if I increased this, I was just wondering if we could have a setting for increasing the current render cap on the line traces for range. I'm not sure what the cap is currently, it seems somewhere around 150 circles(?), but personally I would like to uncap it on my end in order to see the range of my long range units when I have my fleet selected.

I didn't realize that it was capped, to be honest. These are very low-poly circles in the main, and the pixel fill rate is not bad, so I am not sure of a good reason why there is a cap here. Maybe I put it in as a safety valve. I can look at that. I wonder if maybe it was actually causing a slowdown at some point earlier in testing. That sounds vaguely familiar, but I wonder if that was AIWC. My memory is so bad... |
