Description | Often when there are more suitable targets present (such as an armored golem) the spire plasma driver will instead fire at sniper fleetships that it doesn't get the x100 damage bonus against. I suspect that snipers have such a high targeting priority that it even overcomes the logic used for massive damage bonuses against certain targets. | ||||

It does seem like anything with infinite range has a much higher target priority than anything else. This is especially noticeable if you use tritium sniper frigates and have them kite around an AI planet |

As of version 2.606 this is still an issue. At the planet Aprea, a spire plasma driver is firing at sniper fleetships rather than at golems or guardians. A spire raildestroyer seems to suffer from the same problem, but this is a mod unit. Save uses more starting options, civilian industry, and spire railgun shop. |
