Loading up the game, I see no reason why it should be running slowly. When you have slowness, there are steps you can take to diagnose what the cause is here: http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,74.msg432.html#msg432
I just updated today, as your post reminded me that I hadn't done so since all the new performance tuning stuff in 4.0.
At any rate, if it's your ISP, then there are ways to work around that (see network skip). I have TWC as well, and in general they do really well for me and the other folks I play with that also have it. Comcast has been a lot more trouble, but even they have been better lately. Sometimes it also varies by when you are playing, as times of peak load for the ISP may cause more problems. |

See I've had nothing but problems with TWC. The TV scrambles the graphics on an almost daily frequency, I timeout uploading mods to TES Nexus, and we will randomly lose internet for no appreciable reason. This is the first game we've played that had any lag whatsoever. Maybe my new machine is too far ahead of his? I went a bit nuts on this puppy to save me having to get a new machine for some time. |

The relative power of the machines should not matter, unless you're playing on a higher performance profile in-game than his machine can handle. But, you'd figure that out through diagnosing the performance issue via the link above, either way (his GPU/CPU would be at fault, in that case, basically). |
