Summary | 0002349: [4.064] Spirecraft and Broken Golem comments.
Description | Alright. Finally got to play a game after the crazyness that was December (yay Christmas) and have a couple comments regarding the SPirecraft and Broken Golem options. First, can I ask that the text on the game creation screen be clarified? It took me a few minutes puzzeling out what you meant. For both: "The EASY/HARD version of this minor faction give you the Spirecraft/Golems with nothing in the way of benifit to the AI." The Hard version then goes on to say it's thing about the waves being launched. The confusing part is the text on the medium button about the increased energy cost. There's no comment about energy costs on the easy or hard buttons. Perhaps (for golems below, similar for spirecraft) The EASY version of this minor faction gives you the golems at their base energy requirements with no AI Progress cost to repair them. Consequently your score is halved. The MEDIUM version of this minor faction gives you the golems at an increased energy requirement with a small AI Progress cost to repair them. Consequently your score is reduced by a third. The HARD version of this minor faction gives you the golems at their base energy requirements with no AI Progress cost to repair them. However, whether or not you choose to capture any golems, the AI will periodically launch large waves at you with golems of their own -- so you are advised to get some golems of your own in order to survive. The other issue is how are these waves populated? I've attached the game in question that is causing this question, there's a broken golem wave at 98%. Note that I have both Spirecraft and Golems enabled on hard in this game. The Spirecraft wave hit me earlier with a Spirecraft Siege Tower in it so that seemed okay. However, the first time the broken golem wave hit me it had no golems in it, it did have another Spirecraft Siege Tower however which confused me. I then reloaded and the second time the broken golem wave hit, it had no golems and no spirecraft in it, but it did have 2 core starships. Neither issue is huge, but these two things did strike me as something that would be looking at.

Thanks! Fixed your clarity issues. In terms of the waves on the spirecraft/golem factions, they actually give waves with any of the above that you noticed if they are unlocked. I updated the description for that part to say spirecraft/golems (and other big nasty things). |
