Description | Can we make combat engineers swappable, so we can stick them other fleets? It's already possible with some micro management (every time you select the main fleet add engineers, but not the combat factory) Yes, you won't be able to transport engineers like that. But with their speed and cloaking that doesn't matter that much So, overall I feel like swapping would give players new opitons, but it wouldn't affect the balance Thanks for your attention! | ||||

I don't think combat engineers should be on regular fleets. |

Part of what makes support fleets and a couple of the battle stations that get seeded on the map a desired commodity is the combat engineers. Reasonably speaking they are at their most valuable speeding up the construction of replacement fleet ships or turret nests. Topping off the HP of a fleet mid combat is more of a "win more" mechanic because its only viable when you are already winning and the opposing fleet cannot keep everything under fire. If you are looking to reliably get repairs during fights consider baiting larger AI responses into fortified chokes where your home defense engineers will happily assist. |

I think you miss the point I already can do what I want with some micromanagement. I'm asking to make things simpler Is there any reason why I shouldn't be allowed to do that? |

Because frankly speaking engineers do not belong on a dedicated combat fleet. Having them around for minor bits of repairs pales massively in comparison to their value hanging one system back helping the combat factory pump out reinforcements. By utilizing this "strategy" of yours you are actually handicapping yourself. The real usage of forward combat engineers in a system in conflict is force building turrets for a battle station. |

We have made some improvements to make them more convenient, but you do need to bring the support factory as part of the deal. If that's broken somewhere, then I'll need to fix that up! |
