Summary | 0002287: Click alert for more info
Description | This suggestion is in response to seeing "where did this wave come from" threads for ages. Seriously forever. Especially when new units are introduced that players are not familiar with (like AI Eyes having the Full AI Warp Gate function) Howabout if, by clicking on the alert (maybe with a modifier key) it gives even more info about the wave than in the one line. Such as what particular building or condition caused it, and how that building works. For example, if the wave was caused by an AI Eye, the player would get an explanation about normal warp mechanics and how an Eye acted like a warp gate. However, if it was by a guardian, then the description would talk about how a guardian is like a mobile warp gate. This could also easily clear up warp jumper and raid engine waves. This is not just reproducing the tool-tip stuff, but it is meant to inform players about what caused a specific warp.

Out of scope for now, but if it's popular in the vote tallies we'd consider it for sure. |

Sounds like this would be great for newer players like yours truly. To make this even more out of scope, it would be great to see this idea expanded to a general 'help' click modifier. So I can hold some unused key combination (if there are any left... ctrl+alt+shift+num lock maybe :P) and click on a warning, or a unit type, or a UI element and it would pop up all the info about that thing. Maybe unit strong vs weak vs if that ever comes back, or an explanation of its various abilities or immunities. Or on a UI element it could tell me what this message or counter refers to, or what this button is for, and if there are any relevant hotkeys for it. Maybe even with a wiki link added in if you want to dig deeper into it. |

As I wrote this post I started going deeper and deeper, but my initial thought was showing just the cause "warp gate, eye, raid engine, guardian," and the planet. There is definitely a whole lot more that could be done, but I feel that just this info would be enough to clear up a *lot* of the confusions. The player can always go there and read a tooltip once what know what to look for and on what planet. |
