Summary | 0022391: Some quirks with fleet selection
Description | 1) The whole game is "left-click to select, right-click to issue orders" EXCEPT the fleet panel, where you right-click to select and left-click to make changes to the fleet. Changing it would confuse current players, but I'd quite like this as an option. 2) When I open the Fleets toolbar and right-click a fleet, the camera instantly moves to that fleet. This is really annoying if I'm trying to select the fleet to tell it to "come here". I have to use the fleet hotkeys instead, which is ok as long as I have fewer than eleven fleets, but I'd rather the right-click function worked like the hotkeys do - once to select the fleet, again to move the camera to it. Currently, the selection pane in the bottom right can behave in two different ways depending on what you have selected. If you double-click a flagship, use a hotkey, or right-click the fleet in the Fleets toolbar, the selection pane shows fleets. If you click and drag, the selection pane shows units. I'd like a way - either a button on the selection pane, a hotkey, or both - to switch from "selection panel shows fleets" to "selection panel breaks fleets down into units". This would make it nice and quick to, for example, select all the V-wings in a Strike Fleet. Similarly, I'd quite like a button and/or hotkey to do the opposite: "select all the fleets that the currently-selected units are part of".
