Summary0002212: New move order: Hold fire
DescriptionWhen issued the unit will not use its weapon until it is issued a new order. If the move ends on an enemy ship the unit will fire at nothing except the ship, and once the ship is destroyed it will then refuse to fire until a different order is issued. Here's why I'd appreciate this addition:

1] When bombers go on raids they'll take out that AI eye then get the hell out of dodge, rather than shoot down nearby ships and hover at the eye for 10+ seconds...
---Select bombers
---Hold-fire move into enemy system
---Once they're through the wormhole: Hold-fire attack strucuture I want killed
---Queue normal move to friendly planet
---Queue FRD move
 to friendly planet to have them defend it
---Watch bombers blow up the structure and then pepper enemy ships as they leave

2] I can move cloaker starships and accompanying stealthed ships without microing power on/off commands.
---Select cloaker fleet
---Hold-fire move into enemy system, possibly through enemy systems
---Once they're through the wormhole: Hold-fire move to edge of map
---Queue sentinel frigates attack a structure I want killed
---Queue sentinel frigates hold-fire move to it's current position
---Watch structure explode, and then the fleet cloak again before taking heavy casualties


3] I can send suicide units into a system and have them wait to be ordered at the AI eye rather than gleefully blow up some nearby fleet ships.
---Hold-fire move spire rams into system.
---Once they're through the wormhole: Watch them not suicide against nearby tachyon guard post.
---Order them to attack a structure I want killed.
---Queue additional targets and a root to safety for survivors.

I can use low power mode for most of my needs, but I can't queue powering on/off so I have to micro ships... which is something that AI wars tries to avoid!

I would like this. There are more ships that would benefit from this. Including Siege Starships, Snipers, Sentinel Frigates and more.

Any ship with a long recharge time, or a penalty when firing like self attrition, would benefit from this!

Low power mode is really intended for this, but I suppose I can see the benefits of something like this.
