It needs some thinking through, but I'm definately inclined in favor for this. Have a cheap backup plan to instantly swarm a system is not something I'd like to see. |

Maybe, instead of shutting them down, increase paralysis duration on non-supply? I think paralysis combined with the natural throttling of production rates stems off the worst potentials for abuse in this system, as-is. Unless you have 20 factories spitting out units (and an economy that can take the ferocious spike that would warrant) there isn't going to be much "swarming" going on. Increasing paralysis interval would put a lid on extreme cases like the above.

Yes, I wrestled with this before creating them, too. I decided to do it the way I did because this requires a lot less micro: every time you lose a planet you don't have to rebuild these. The reason that is SO important is that if these get killed, then you suddenly have ships collecting on planets that you totally didn't expect, and then you have this major chore of cleanup to go through with getting them to the right spots from all over, etc.
In terms of the paralysis-on-arriving, that already is doubled when you are on a planet you don't control (neutral or enemy), which strikes me as enough of a penalty. Beyond that, having a penalty for lack of supply just seems excessive. |

That and you can't warp a colony ship through these, so while you may be able to pour enough ships through to retake the planet (unlikely given the 2 min paralysis), you STILL need to find a way to get a colony ship back over to the planet to fully retake it. |
