DescriptionBasically to replace the concept of the ARS sometimes merging a ship line, since we don't want merging or splitting ever confusing people.

This needs some design thought, though.

We are indeed removing that from ARSes, but what I'd like to do instead is have a form of capturable that just increases the ship caps of (some? all?) the lines of the hacking fleet. Not tied to that fleet, but still something that can be swapped. So that way you could double your parasites much easier if you wanted to, for instance. And if you find another hackable thing of this sort, you could double it again.
Honestly I could see that being abuse-able, so it needs some thought. But I think that there's a lot less confusion with that sort of mechanic, and more flexibility for you as a player. While ARSes then retain their primary role of "another ship line" and just stay focused on that.
