Summary0000220: Deployable ships
DescriptionThese would be somewhere between turrets and actual ships. They are built in low power mode and have decent speed (15 or 18 or so), and when placed into full power mode (or "on" mode), they lose their speed and deploy a decently powerful weapon, forcefield or other module. It would allow for starting a beachhead easier, especially if they were allowed to operate without supply. Selection would of course be much more limited than the actual turrets allowed. I'm thinking maybe a 5x tractor beam, basic cannon, missile launcher, and laser gun. Enough to temporarily secure that problematic wormhole on that planet you had to deepstrike to. Example:
Forward Bases: Allows use of deployable ships. Turret cap cut by 25%.
