Summary0020401: Visual indicator for selected control group
DescriptionI think having a visual indicator (with its own UI and tooltip) would improve the clarity of control group management. For example, I sometimes forget my control groups and then inadvertently send the wrong fleet commands (disaster invariably follows).

Having this in the sidebar seems sensible, and I think it could be neatly tucked on the bottom, just above the main menu commands.
Lots of games do this now and I definitely find them helpful without being space-consuming

As of the last version, it shows you the name of the control group (1, 2, etc) in the new selected units window header. Thanks!

This is even better than what I hoping for!

I noticed that the text for the ship mode (e.g. pursuit) is much smaller than my other UI stuff, and I don't see a way to scale this to be larger. Is this already doable? If not, I would appreciate the ability to make it larger like the other UI stuff (which I really, really, really love by the way)

The really teeny text there? That's just kind of a button adornment. Same as with the text under the buttons on the Docks tab. It's meant to fit horizontally in the amount of space allowed there, so it has to be very small and can't really be sized up. The main icon visual is what is supposed to be the main reminder of what each button is, but the text is there to help if it has to. Hope that makes sense!

And very glad that you like all the other new stuff. :)

That makes sense, would it still be feasible to get a tooltip when you move your cursor over the modes? (Can't remember offhand if this doable already)

This tooltip would be the ideal place to mention the differences between the modes. Suspect that most newbies will miss out on the nuances

I can confirm that it is in there! These are definitely helpful to even experienced players =)

I like how you've been color-coding the UI, I can see this also being nice polish to the titles of the description (eg. "Pursuit Mode" in the same color text as the color indicator; the corresponding hotkey mentioned in the description too)
