Description | I just got a wave with about 2000 Zenith Mirrors (+ some in a carrier) into the (appropriately named) "Asirape" system. I also have a bunch of tractor beams (about 55) right outside the wormhole to catch them all. I have a decently beefy rig, so the game is still playable, but I imagine that for people with slower machines, this will render the game unplayable. I have a sneaky suspicion that the game is choking drawing all those tractor lines, so it might be a good idea to look into some sort of optimization there. Attached is the relevant save. | ||||

There was a generalized performance issue back around the time you made this report, I think. It may be that it all works just fine for you now, hopefully. But at any rate, I can't duplicate the issue. On High perf profile, I'm getting about 94% game speed on average, dropping to about 70% at worst very briefly. The tractor beams are highly optimized, and there's not a good reason they should be causing such slowdown. However, if you do encounter intense slowdown, you can always: 1. Play with lower ship caps. 2. Turn off some visual effects. 3. Temporarily use a lower performance profile (my recommendation). Again, hopefully the problem is solved for you anyway in the newer versions, but there doesn't seem to be any bug or inefficiency here from what I can see in the current version. |
