Summary0019816: Astrotrains able to spawn AI-Friendly factions? (i.e Macrophage spawner, as high cost projects)
DescriptionRandom thought. Maybe only if that faction is actually in the game already, since if you didn't enable it you obviously don't want it in.

An especially bad Intensity-10 could be to spawn an entirely new Nanocaust!

An intriguing idea. I would consider it, but not until after we've successfully balanced the rest of Astro Trains. Probably not for 1.0.

Also, I worry about the case where a player really hates a faction and then winds up having to fight it anyway. It would have to be only available as an option. "Astro Trains: enable new faction Depots" or something like that.

Currently I can't get it to spawn any faction stuff without that faction already existing anyway. I'd preferably want to give it a criteria, something like *HasHostileToPlayerNanocaust* and just try to add to that. Don't know how to do that but I'll get there eventually, I think. I want to figure out how to do that then look at the rest of it, so I can take any crazy ideas such as this into consideration when putting things in intensities.

Though yes, it should be an option too. Having the AI spawn Nanocaust centers, adding to an already bad infestation is probably not very fun at all.

Addition: The new faction thing is only a problem if the game will actually accept having one spawn mid game. The coding for them doesn't seem to work unless it was there from game start. If not, trains will just be a way the AI can support its faction allies directly, albeit rarely.

Might be a niche case anyway; if you wanted a stronger Nanocaust you'd increase its intensity, not use a roundabout way to do it.

Not doing this at all now - easier to make Trains spawn the Zenith Trader style versions. Maybe get to this sometime but not now.
