Summary | 0001976: FRD mode not engaging foes
Description | In this save I have ships in FRD mode that were being rallied to different planets as a patrol route. There's a wave on the planet, and all the ships have moved to engage as planned... but some have stopped outside of their range and are just sitting there doing very little. The ships aren't engine damaged as far as I can tell, and the wave is still very much alive... although trapped by tractor beams.

I've seen a bit of this myself. Ships that have just exited transports (and then been set to FRD by the auto-FRD CTRL function) seem particularly prone to "going to sleep" and failing to engage targets. |

I can't duplicate this in the latest version (4.055 working copy), perhaps it was some temporary bug a while back. I open up your save, everything is in range (or moves very quickly into range), and the wave is dead in under 5 seconds or so. At any rate, yay, looks like it's already fixed by something else. :) |
