DescriptionI'm trying to steer clear of this catagory of report since this will all change drastically soon. So, I'm not asking this be fixed (if it even is broken) in the interim. I just want to know if this is supposed to happen. This could just be me not understanding the mechanics that go into threat creation.

I've attached two save games. "Pre Threat" is a renamed autosave 7 minutes before "Threat" and is right before I capture Korn (for the third time). I have 2.6k threat here. Right after I re-take Korn threat was actually lower since I caught a few ships before they made their escape. Then, while I'm massing at my side of an AI wormhole and threat runs away to 26k! One tiny step forward, two giant steps back.

The first time I re-captured Korn it jumped to 15k and I eventually had to retreat, poke and prod to kill AI ships in small batches, and slowly work to the point I could take it in "Pre Threat".

It wasn't easy. I'm not stronger than I was before. They are. I definitely won't win (or even progress) if I keep this up.

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Is it my settings (all default) that are resulting in this butt kicking? How is threat created?

PS: I can still build the ships the EFL and ARS give me even after I loose them. Not sure if that is a known issue or not. Anyway, I may or may not have exploited that in both of my retakings of Korn above...

You don't need to keep an ARS to be able to build those units, it's unlocked permanently.

That's good. I'm only half the dirty cheater I thought I was. :)

In your games does the threat get this high this early? My Ark hasn't touched an enemy planet. I know I said my settings were all default but it looks like I did have Human Resistance Fighters on. Just in case that makes a difference.
