Description | With the linear scaling of the spirecraft ships I'm not really find it of worth to spend any of my asteroids on anything beyond spirecraft shields (ions are an exception, but I don't use those) because the ships scale linearly up tiers. I'm speaking in general terms of their use and main function, not HP/etc.
Spirecraft shields are still exceptional as the extra HP increases their durability [when they're repairable] and thus you lose less in the end. Ships like the attritioners, siege towers, martyrs, rams don't really increase in effectiveness; for example, attritioners. Why would I want to construct a MK2 attritioner that deals 600 damage while the lowest tier offers 300? Rams. Why do I want more overkill? There are probably other ways to increase its survivability than spend a higher tier asteroid for it [or using martyrs instead, *cough*]. Seige towers. Sure, the extra armour penetration, armor, and health is nice, but MK1s are still pretty even with higher tiers.
There need be slight distinction in the benefit with using the higher-tiered crafts. |
