Summary0001699: Need to update Objectives window to account for new Core Shield Generators
DescriptionThis is just a note to myself that I need to update the Objectives window to reflect the new intermediate steps required before the AI home command stations can be destroyed.

This is _also_ so that no one else needs to file a duplicate issue about this need. Hint hint :)

Yea, and the minor faction ships cannot actually colonize a planet for the player, so either they need some kind of pass-through around these new rules or I'm basically going to have to scrap that whole thing because players will really not get that they have to colonize certain of the planets being cleared out.

Probably the thing to do? When that stage of the process begins, you just nuke certain AI planets, and have it be "such a powerful nuke" that it also kills all those shield generators.

So, nuke all but one of the A-Prime planets that remain (if any do), as well as one each of the B, C, D, E secondary planets that remain (if any do). And provide notices to the player that those things were "nuked from orbit with superwarheads" or whatever you like as flavor text.

Then resume the normal existing chase logic. With this specific branch, having anything more extended in terms of what the minor faction tries to do is just stretching this out, anyway.

I think this is critical so that players know there are now prerequisites to attacking the AI Home Planets

I agree that it's critical for players to know, but I'm waiting a bit on the rewrite in case the system gets changed again soon, so I don't have to rewrite it multiple times :)

I'm a little lost as to what you guys are talking about here, core shields to obj. list and nuke flavor text I understand, but whats this about minor factions colonizing planets for the player?

Keith, I'm pretty set on these -- any additional changes are highly likely to be new things, not the removal of these.

.. I really need to finish a Fallen Spire game, I haven't gotten past building the first hub by myself. Nemo and I tried a coop Fallen Spire game a couple weeks ago but got mowed down by the event wave after building our first hub and I grabbed the second shard 'too early'. Definitely next week when I'm down with this semester I'll have to finish one.
