I overwrite saves frequently. I get a .bak file for the old one.

Oh, I see what you mean. The list of saves gets the mouse click event that should go to the confirmation button. This has broken since 0.823 -- my last .bak file is timestamped May 19 22:09 -- but I suspect the culprit is 0.851's mouse reworking.

Also, if I hit escape I get sent back to the game with the confirmation window still there. At that point I can confirm overwriting the save or hit escape again to make it go away.

im on the same line as you there it wouldn't surprise me at all if the clicking interface tweaks have caused this now I can get over this by making a new mildly different save but it is pretty annoying. ps glad you understand what I mean

Jerith - it wasn't broken on my end until this latest build. I almost always overwrite and only encountered it now. (and I accidentally reported the same)

* Fixed some mouse handling bugs that were introduced in version 0.854.
** Most notable among the effects was the inability to overwrite savegames.
