Summary | 0001589: Manufactories don't balance at resource cap | ||||
Description | When you reach the cap for one resource but not the other, manufactories should attempt to balance the resources automatically. IE, if I'm at max metal, manufactories should shunt overflow into crystal if possible (assuming it's not dumping into an ally's resource pool - in which case a control option to allow prioritization between allies or manufactories might be warrented). | ||||

really? I'll have to see if I can track down the discussion on that. Edit - I guess you could argue that, but since there is an auto management feature for when you bottom out of one resource I don't see why it shouldnt also flip on when you max out in a given resource. http://www.arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_Manufactories |

What about multiplayer? Some players would want that excess metal to be handed out to the other players. Other players would want to convert some of that metal into crystal anyways. Sometimes, it depends on the situation. This seems great in single player though. |

Those players that want to share resources can simply wait until they are completely capped out, or they can directly give resources to the other players (I think that works again). I don't plan on adding a lot of options for this particular thing anytime soon, I think that's overkill and we're trying to clear things out for the most part: my goal is to make it simply work the best possible for the player's individual economy. |

Okay, just wanted to make sure you considered this case. As you often do, you managed to consider those odd strategic cases in new logic. :) |

That's my job. ;) I do occasionally miss one, so I'm always happy to have people bring them up, but I always have viewed that as a core part of both my last job (system architect for a large enterprise software solution at a small business), and this one. Anywho, no worries. |

I noticed that in the latest patch notes, but forgot that I brought it up. Heh, good to see this added though - microing MF and CF when you're rebuilding lots of turrets but not fleet ships (and vice versa) is kind of a pain at times - but no longer! |
