Summary | 0000156: Spider Turret Targetting - not based on engine health | ||||
Description | http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,6907.0.html Spider Turrets are not working to systematically destroy engines on all ships in-system before selecting one target to fire on until dead. I think the likely cause of this problem is enemies entering in groups - if a spider turret knocks out the engines of all ships in-system, it then selects one target to fire on until dead. Its targetting protocol does not then restart when another new group of enemies enters, allowing the new group to run around unscathed because the spider turrets are all "locked on" to already-disabled targets and are trying to finish them off. Ships attacking force fields have logic to disengage when they have been attacking it for more than 15 seconds (to see if anything else is around). For ships that do engine damage and prioritize that, something similar might need to be done. |
