Summary | 0001506: Mouse Wheel Zoom customization issue
Description | The options that control the amount zoomed per tick of the mouse wheel are messed up. Zooming IN appears to be controlled by the 'Mouse Zoom Speed' slider. Right on the slider = larger amount zoomed per mouse wheel tick (but only for zooming in). Zooming OUT appears to be controlled by 'Zoom Increments'. Right on the slider = smaller amount zoomed per mouse wheel tick (but only for zooming out). It's difficult to customize these so that zooming amount is comfortable (I prefer finer zooming resolution = higher 'increments' slider), and get the zoom in/out rate to match (which requires messing with the zoom speed slider). It seems like the 'speed' should control the # of frames it takes to zoom to the new desired zoom level, and 'increments' should determine how much the desired zoom changes per wheel tick (both IN and OUT).

Keith, I've been through this a bunch of times, but there must be something wrong with my logic. Can you look at it and see if you spot it? That will be faster than me banging my head on it some more, I think. |
I, uh, don't have a mouse wheel :) But I can get a setup for this, will take a look soon. |
Oh, whoops. Who doesn't have a mouse wheel!? ;) |
Yea, I hope I'm the only one in the world who plays AI War and Team Fortress 2 (and everything else) using a laptop touchpad with 3 buttons below it for the 3 mouse keys ;) |
My god, the humanity! ;) Though I do sometimes play AI War with my mac touchpad -- but that's the one with no buttons, you just click the pad with one or two fingers for left/right click, so it's way easier to move my hands around without carpal tunnel flares... mostly. |
The risk of making the mouse worse right before 5.0 is too high; deferring this until later. |
