Summary0014272: shield and hull hp are randomly reduced
Descriptionwell i start the game and i have about 166k of both shield and hull hp as the standard hull the game picks for you with Acutian as the place i crash land. i play for awhile i get up to 212k hull and shield. then after while (i cant remember if i saved and came back or not) i am in a battle and i notice i now have 50k shields and about 140k hull. this is after i have unlocked special and stuff and changed skills and one weapon. i dont know if the game is supposed to work like this...but a 150k drop in shields really f**ks you over when your getting later in the game.

i tried print screening my ship...and it wouldnt let me it would just take one of my desktop even when i was in the game with it fullscreen

f12 will put a screenshot in "steam/steamapps/the last federation/runtimedata/screenshots", you could try that.

ok i was able to upload some screen shots. the first 3 are from my game showing that it is past the start and showing how much hull + shields i have. the last one is from a brand new start with the same race showing my shields and hull. as you can see they are VERY different the one from the game im playing shows 150k hull and 60k shields while the brand new start shows 189k hull and 166k shields.

so what i want to know is why do i at a minimum have 39k hull gone and 116k shields?

*i know for a fact at one point i had 212k hull and 190k shields* so thats what i dropped down from.

I have also hit this bug. Reported it on community forums (http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,15285.0.html), windgen sent me here. This is a dealbreaker bug for me.

I believe I have encountered this as well, as the community forums reported it has to do with extra health going away on save/load, or possibly other events.

I too just experienced this. I loaded up a game I had been playing for an hour or so the night prior and had my hull & shield dramatically reduced. I was doing a separatist mission for the Peltians against eight ships. I eventually died mostly from sheer culmination of shots being fired.

If this is a feature, it's one I don't understand. The beginning game is already confusing and hard enough without having the game neuter you when you reload a game.

For 1.003:

* Fixed a bug where the beginning-of-combat logic that creates the player's ship object was using sometimes using stale precalculated values. In tests today this resulted in hull/shield strength maybe 15% too low. It now recalculates those values just before that operation.

* Fixed a major bug where the "when loading a game, regenerate the player ship's stats to account for any balance changes in updates since the game was saved" logic was actually using radically different stat-computation logic than what is normally used whenever a new ship design is created.
** This was causing massive drops in hull/shield health when saving and loading mid-combat.
