Summary0001296: FF bearers don't spread out in formation (sometimes)
DescriptionI've noticed that with this large group of 2.2k units, FF bearer units aren't properly spreading out to cover the entire group. Sometimes they all stay on the outer edge of the group, other times they will all clutter in the center--the screenshot depicts both.

Attempting to move them around (separately and in group), and re-sending through a wormhole results in the same thing.

There is no special positioning logic for shield bearers, and it's far too CPU intensive to try that. If you use formation-move (J), you should be able to arrange them manually and then keep them in that formation.

I have seen that they can spread out properly, covering most of the fleet, which is why I assumed there was a logic for it.

The way that large group moves are handled, the actual destination points are a series of concentric rings, and ships of a given type will typically be contiguous along one or more of the rings; this is neither optimal nor pessimal for ff-bearer coverage, but tends to be decent overall.
