|Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0011987: Scout Starship does not block Sniper Shots|
|Description||This applied to Sentinel Frigates. And both the Turret and Cloaker do. However, the T1 Scout starship does not. It may have been intentionally removed without updating the tooltip.|

the real "problem" according to me is that there's no way to really know if a ship counters snipers, because there's no tag "counters snipers" similar to "counters missile" or "counters darkmatter", etc...
I suppose it's because snipers are not a weapon type (snipers/spider turrets have railgun as weapon type).
so basically you've to "trust" the tooltip.
I haven't been able to reproduce this in my game against an Artillerist+Bouncer AI. Did you check these two things?
- all ships are in range of the protection
- wait until existing shots have been fired
The shots of Sentinel Frigates have a long travel time, and the counter-sniper ability is only determined at firing time. So, if you maintain reasonable coverage and group-move you should see no more firing.
Huh. Odd. So Sentinel frigates will shoot at your counter sniper's coverage, and dissapate at close range, but if the counter sniper moves in range, then it will only block sniper shots created after that occurs?
I will have to go back and check. It may in fact work that way.
||Just like how protector star only counters stuff that is just fired, and once fired cannot be countered.|
