Summary | 0001154: Auto Energy Reactor management
Description | As we now have auto manufactory management coupled with the 10 free crystal & metal manufactories at the start of the game, would it be possible to copy the same behaviour to energy management? Basically I find in the early game I'm putting reactors into low power mode as I need the minerals more than I need a surplus of power, especially in the amounts level 3 reactors provide. If the game took this micromanagement out of your hands in the way it does for the metal & crystal manufactories it would help players in the early game & hopefully help out people who are new to the game.

This is a beaten up topic... In short - no (unless x4000 changed his mind). |
ah fair enough, I searched Mantis to see if it was already requested but not the forums. |
Personally I like the current way; it makes it easier to see how much energy surplus you have, and how close you are to having to build more reactors/take a new planet. |
Yeah, this has unfortunately been debated back and forth over the entire existance of AIW, I think. Chris has pretty much stated that this is a no. He's removed almost all required micromanagement, but this is one thing he wants to leave as it is. I can't remember if it was a philosophical thing or a technical thing. Anyways, I don't think this is happening. |
Thank you for making the request, and using mantis. This topic is now here and will help answer this question in the future for others. Again thanks for taking the extra time to contribute |

I just end up manually doing my power anyway.. the last multiplayer game i played, i had something like 500k spare power (all in mk1/2 generators) offline on allied worlds. its incredibly easy given the quickbuttons at the bottom really |
