Product Version | 1.003 But The Third One Stayed Up!
Summary | 0011048: Bypassing bosses
Description | When battling a boss, I suddenly found myself severely lacking in the health department. So I snuck through the water body udnerneath the boss to kill some of the enemies behind for health. Now imagine my surprise when I came to the end of this section, only to find another boss there, with appropriately reduced health! I had managed to bypass one stage of the boss fight simply by walking past it! Needless to say, I think this is a pretty major problem.

Something HAD to have killed the first stage of true boss that you found. Possibly sharpnel from you attacking the monsters underneath. Under the hood, the boss battles actually have multiple copies of the same boss, all with different behaviors and the same low health amounts. When you knock the boss down a certain amount of health and they "teleport" away, what is really happening is the one entity died, and the next one became visible. Now: I could interpret this bug as the second entity becoming visible before it should have. But you would have no health bar except the one at the top of the screen to go by in terms of judging health, and you said that was appropriately lower. Hat health bar adds up the health from all the entities, invisible and non, so that's pretty much confirmation the other one died. Further confirming that is the fact you could leave the room through the other side of the boss room. If there are any boss entities in a room, invisible or no, those doors are locked (as in valley 1). If the first entity was still alive, you'd have had to go back and fight it despite somehow have running into a later entity mistakenly. The fact that this didnt happen is pretty ironclad proof the entity was dead. That is not new code, or complex code. Sounds like you got lucky with some sort of shrapnel! |

Please excuse the typos, am on my phone. |

Hmm, if that's how it works under the hood, then I suppose I must have either gotten lucky with them Clockwork Giants, or have been confused :). |
