Summary | 0010770: Swim warp to other side of screen!
Description | See screenshot -- if you're walking on the strip of land to the far west of where Darrell is standing (against screen, south of portal), and then if you fall south into the deep water, the game will place you where Darrell is standing now, on the far east of the screen! At first I thought this was about collisions because a bee had stung me, but I can reproduce this every time by simply falling into deep water after standing on that first column of tiles.

I haven't been able to repro this. That's kind of odd that it would happen, because it's the exact sort of thing that the queue of safe spots is supposed to prevent. |
|
That's odd that you cannot, as I can cause it without fail. I made sure that I hadn't just ghosted from the starting screen onto this one, which might make the "original tile of land" unknown. In fact, I walked normally on some of the invisible pathway, ghosted across the sub-level, and then jumped in the water to be brought back to the east side. |
|
Is this in the latest versions? Can you give me example tile numbers you go to, fall in, and where it then takes you? Also, as you travel if you turn f4 on, do you see the little s moving behind you onto the safe areas you walk, or does the s stick on the other side? I did this with no ghosting at all, and that might be the thing. I think ghosting may mess with your path of where it keeps track of safe points, in which case this bug is not really something players would ever see. Not sure if that's what it is, though. Don't spend a lot of time on this, though, because we have no other reports of it yet and this is the sort of thing it's easier to have a hundred people track down than one busy designer. :) |

From tile 192, you can fall into water at 193, or walk south to fall into 288. The little s is always following you. When you fall in the water, only then does the s change locations to the east side, where you appear. Also, I found that if you aren't coming from the eastern screen, the game instead teleports you back to where you first started the level. I'll leave this one alone now -- hope you find its source! |
