Description | Sometimes when we enter chunks, monsters will be frozen in their spawn points doing nothing, not attacking us. It seems to happen in an entire square since I went though a whole cave with them stuck. Dunno if it's just multi-player. | ||||

Also, I exited a chunk while this was occurring and it happened in other chunks as well. I really have no idea what causes it, but I may have a way to reproduce some form of monster freeze... If 2 people die/1 person dies while another dude is invulnerable in a boss room, and 1 stays dead/invulnerable while the other respawns and runs back to the boss room, the boss will weird out on the respawning guy's client. Might be a monster freeze, might just be a different glitch, and heck it might not even bug out... But most of the time when we tried to cheese a boss like this, he just bugged out and forced us to wait for the map to reset. Edit: It might have something to do with the boss being heavily damaged before the players die. Like, maybe it noticed the player count changed and adjusts his HP, so when the respawning player gets back it acts really weirdly. The reason I say it's a possible reason since every time we try to cheese the boss by keeping 1 dead/invulnerable player in the chunk (so his HP doesn't reset) it never works. |

For 0.724: * MP: Fixed a longstanding bug where text interjections would not work at all in multiplayer unless the application had already been run in singleplayer mode (during that run of the app) and encountered the specific category of text interjection in that mode and thus actually loaded the entries off disk. Any interjection category run into in MP that hadn't been loaded would result in a bunch of strange behavior like permanent invincibility and/or not being able to do anything on the world map. I believe this would cause the problem observed here because monsters with no viable targets might just freeze. Nonetheless, if you see this again in 0.724 or later please reopen this issue (or start a new one if you prefer). Thanks :) |
