Summary | 0009669: Teleport not working
Description | My engineers and translocators are moving at normal speed instead of teleporting. This is happening because I have my ship movements defaulting to group move in the In Game Options whether or not I am moving a group made up of teleporters or even just one ship. They all use their normal movement. When I disable the option they are back to moving normally. Needless to say I am keeping it off for now since I just got a group of engineers mark III's because they didn't teleport in an AI system.

I don't think this is a bug so much as a necessary side-effect. If you want your teleporters to teleport, use what would normally be the group-move key. |
Yea, another player also pointed this out to me. For 5.090: * Now when you give a group-movement movement command to a group containing only teleporting units, it ignores the group-movement part so that the teleporters do not use their normal engines. Thanks :) Hopefully this will be an acceptable compromise. |
This was not fixed in 5.090, my engineers are still using group movement and there is nothing but engineers mk3 in the group. |
Odd, will take a look. |

Ok, I: 1) Downloaded your save (thanks for providing it) and loaded it up; I haven't made any changes to my copy since releasing 5.090. 2) Went to Lychu 3) Selected the 15 engi-IIIs 4) Gave a normal move order by right-clicking (since default-group-move was on, this would be like G+right-click without the toggle). 5) The engi-IIIs teleported as I would have expected. 6) Gave another move order by G+right-click. They teleported. 7) Turned off the default-group-move toggle. 8) Gave another move order by just right-click. They teleported. 9) Gave another move order by G+right-click. They teleported. 10) Included a scout in the selection and repeated the four tests; the toggle+right-click and no-toggle+G+right-click cases produced normal flight (by design) and the other two produced the scout flying normally and the engies teleporting. So I don't know what's up but I can't reproduce this at all in 5.090. Do you have steps to reproduce from this save that I can use? Thanks :) |
Yes I do. 1) Went to Lychu 2) Selected the 15 engi-IIIs 3) Go go Galaxy Map, right click on another planet to send them to it. 4) watch at teleporting Engi fly there with their engines rather then their teleporters. |
For 5.089 what I did step by step was: 1. Hit ctrls 2. Turned on the Ship movement defaults to group move 3. Hit Save 4. Selected Engineer group 5. Clicked new location to move to 6. Watch them move at a snails pace However I can't duplicate this in 5.090 so I am not sure exactly what is happening. |
Ok, if any of you find a reproducible case let me know. Maybe its related to having something non-teleporting selected on one planet, switching planets, then giving move orders to a teleporting group. |
Already did. See my last post... |
Oh, right, sorry, didn't see that one. |
Ok, fixed that for 5.091, thanks :) |
