Summary | 0009571: AI Eye variety suggestions
Description | Not really sure about these, but I was thinking a few days ago that really, the Ion and Parasite eyes seem a little too similar to me- so I thought, what else could an AI Eye do? Support Eye: Acts as planet-wide munitions booster, armour booster, armour inhibitor, speed booster (2xspeed), radar jammer, with the magnitude of the boost being set so that, as player ship count gets higher, the ratio of strength actually swings back towards the AI- so when the player has 2x AI ships, effect is negligable, but when the player has 4x AI ships, for example, the AI ships are boosted to the degree of being 4x as strong- and thus, the AI fleet is actually harder to defeat than if the player had brought less ships. Tractor Eye: Unlimited, planetary range tractor beams, with the intent that the player will have to scuttle some of their ships to get moving again. (Might be a bit too nasty against normal stuff, but weak to snipers)

I don't like these. The current AI Eyes work towards restoring the 2:1 ratio even if the player does nothing, but the tractor and gravity eyes don't change the ratio at all. The support eye sounds like "the Sentry Eye, but more". And if you give the AI anything that can take on a Fallen Spire fleet, you need to think about what that can do to the finale of the Fallen Spire campaign. |

A fair point on the Gravity and Tractor Eyes. As for the Artillery Eye... Yeah. A very good point, and I've removed it. |
