Description | Basically a reversed battleground (I realize similar suggestions have been made) in which you must defend against hordes of enemies. This would be a time sensitive mission (also related to a previous suggestion), meaning that it would be up for 5 or 10 minutes vs the normal 20, and, if ignored, would result in the loss of that building OR, if it is your settlement under attack, the loss of a [low] number of civilians and/or bonus buildings. Because it is time-sensitive, pressing 'E' while on the tile would teleport you straight into a mission staging area for the mission, from which you may leave, taking you back into the world map. The idea is that the attack has rendered the chunk too dangerous to explore, so you need to fight. How the flow of the mission would work is you exit the staging area and appear at your home base, which would be the building that you are fighting for or the entrance to your settlement, with barricades or some such to mark it. The first wave of enemies will be appearing in 10 or 15 seconds, or however long is suitable to get to the furthest tower. When you get there, several allies will already be there. In my opinion, this battle should have advanced allies, who use a variety of powers like Fireball or Plasma Bolt, and use them as a human would, e.g. as much as possible, as well as a sizeable group of enemies per wave. Since this works in a wave fashion, versus the 'stream' you would get on the battlefield, I think there should just be a number of waves you must defend against. Alternatively you could do it 'stream' style, and have a time you must defend for. I also think the enemies should go primarily for the towers or the base, only breaking off occasionally to fight you and your peeps. Finally, I think each wave should be headed by a microboss or two, and finish with a miniboss wave. This would be so. Much. Fun. |
