Summary | 0009213: Several Popup-text Typos
Description | Most of the popup-text typos I found are within the 'Create World' menu: From the main menu, click 'Play', then 'Create World'. * Hover over "X Combat Difficulty": there are three typos here. 1)"Monster health, speed, telegraphing time, cooldown time." Telegraphing? I would guess that this was meant to be 'teleporting', but are there even teleporting enemies? 1b) I suggest that instead of cooldown time, 'rate of fire' be said here. It currently reads as if monsters are cooling down (which might not make sense), when I think the intended meaning is that monsters' spells have a shoter cooldown, meaning they fire faster (as monsters fire as often as possible, provided they have a target). 2) "Accuracy of certain monster spells like circle of fire." I believe circle of fire is a spell that can't be aimed (unless the monster version is different), meaning that it in particular is a spell that has nothing to do with accuracy. If what's meant by accuracy is how straight monsters shoot, then any aimed spell (like fireball) should work here, instead of circle of fire. 3) "Attack shielding/penetration added per level." As "Shielding from continent tier" isn't in the game anymore (as of http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AVWW_-_Post-Launch_Series_2_Release_Notes#Beta_1.104_The_Victorious_Return_Of..._Levels.21),I believe this line should be deleted. --- * World Creation, Citybuilding Difficulty: 4) When hovering over the currently selected difficulty, the generic description ("The citybuiding difficulty affects the following:") and the specific description (describing how that specific difficulty work) are blended. For example, with Village citybuilding difficulty: "The citybuilding difficulty affects the following: - The danger and difficulty of survivor dispatch missions. - The number of extra levels overlords have [etc] - Which temperaments will be assigned to survivors. -Survivors only have temperaments >= 200 internal points. -Overlords have 0 extra levels that must be removed by dispatch missions." I suggest there be another line after "- Which temperaments", simply reading "Village Citybuilding Difficulty" (or whichever difficulty is currently being described). 4b) In the specific Citybuilding Difficulty descriptions, there isn't a space between the "-" and the text. --- Popup-text typo not in the create world menu, but in the character creation menu (seen when either first starting a world, or after your current character has died): 5) See the popup text when you hover over 'Health'. "the effectiveness of each increases is based on your starting max health." increases should be increase.

1) Telegraphing is correct. Telegraph, in this context, means the amount of time between when an enemy indicates that it is going to do something and when it actually does something. For example, on a skelebot dwarf, this would effect the amount of time in which the dwarf stands still before firing it's circle of fire spell. 2) I think this is also correct. Monsters, as far as I can tell, always have 100% accuracy with aimed spells. It is said to affect "Accuracy of certain spells like circle of fire" because it doesn't do anything to most spells. I believe the 'certain spells' this tooltip is referencing are ones that are 'instant', a la zero travel time. Given the fact that these spells appear instantly, it wouldn't be fair to have them always hit you without fail. Therefore, monsters have an accuracy with these spells that is not perfect. They won't always cast them at the correct time to hit you. Sometimes they will be inaccurate. I can't think of a more concise way to explain it, and I think that particular tooltip is good. 3) Directly below the patch notes about the removal of "shielding from continent tier" is a bit on shielding and penetration. Just sayin'! |

1) Hmm. Is there a more player-friendly term we can use here? Maybe it should be expanded into 'time between stopping and firing'. 2) OK, I think I see what you mean. Like how Blue & Red Amoebas have both an X and a + attack - it's how often they use the one that's most likely to hit you. 3) OK, I think I understand better now. First there was 'shielding from continent tier', but then tiers got removed. Now there's "shielding" and "penetration". You've foiled my plans. That is unforgivable. |
