Summary0000902: Zenith viral shredders multiplying
DescriptionPlease verify that code that prevents them from multiplying over the cap works. I got few from zenith reserve and they kind of boomed there. In few moments I had 255 of them when cap is 49. I copied last auto save but not sure if it will be helpful since I go it them randomly from Zenith Reserve.

They are allowed to multiply well over the cap, but it applies an exponentially-growing factor that increases the number of build points they need as they get further and further over cap on that planet. Different groups on different planets are counted separately for all that, so you can actually nurture up several distinct swarms.

If you have the time for some specific testing, you could watch their build point counts (in the ship-mouseover-info) as they fight and see at what point they replicate, and see if that threshold does or does not increase as their numbers on that planet increase.

They are definitely allowed to build over the cap, what you're describing is correct. There is a different "hard cap" above which they will not go, I think like 2000.

Main problem was that they kind of insta replicated. I took a closer look and found the reason. There were few zenith mirrors as enemies - that gives tons of damage done and many new shredders produced. Mirror is neutron hull so additional 3x from shredder bonus adds to 40x from mirror and you get 265 from 8 shredders :D
