Summary | 0008719: 'Air Seeker' enchant finding 'Air Slash' enchants?
Description | I get the feeling that the Air Seeker enchant (goes in the head slot, makes finding air-related enchants more likely) makes the finding of Air Slash (left arm?, increases projectile speed) more likely. I suspect that it's doing this because air slash has the word 'Air' in it. Since Air Slash doesn't improve the power of air attacks, I believe this shouldn't be the case. Granted, I might be wrong about this - I got the suspicion after equipping Air Seeker, and then my next 2 out of 3 found enchants being Air Slash. Correction: I think that Air Seeker makes it more likely to find both Air Slash, and Niche Air enchants.

This is a tough one to diagnose, it very well could just be a RNG fluke. Are others seeing this too? |
|
The following test might be a good way to diagnose it, but I'm not sure how easy/possible it would be to set up: Create a new world, except within the home base, there will be a large number (50, 100?) of Rare Enchant containers (the ones that give you an enchant instantly). (As an aside, none of these enchants should fall on the player right away - they should all be very easy to run to a little ways away, once the player has picked up or not picked up an [Air Seeker] enchant.) Laying near the player is an Air Seeker enchant, which they can choose to equip or not equip. In one run-through, the player equips the air seeker enchant, collects the 50? rare enchants, and tallies how many are [Air Slash] or [Niche Air]. In another run-through, the player doesn't equip Air Seeker, and does the same tally. The tallies are then compared. Granted, each run-through would require a different save file (because of auto-save), unless there's a way to disable auto-save for this specific test-map. But copy/pasting the original version of a save file into the save directory shouldn't be too hard, if need be. As this test would take some time to evaluate, and the more run-throughs, the more accurate the results, maybe y'all in Arcen could simply design it, but then give the save file to us bug/feature reporters, for us to test and report on? ^^ |

As of update 1.109, this issue is obsolete, since element-specific seeker enchants have been removed from the game. This issue might only matter again if element-specific seeker enchants are ever re-introduced. |
