Summary | 0000865: Custom protocol for joining direct-connect games
Description | Since there is no in-game browser, it would be nice to have the game register a custom protocol with the OS, to trigger joining a direct-connect game; such as: aiwar://127.0.0.1 E.g., I would host a new game, click a button in the lobby to copy the URL to clipboard (or even just construct it myself), and paste it to the players who would join me (over IM/IRC/etc.). They could then simply click the link and it would launch the game and automatically attempt to connect to the specified lobby. As a bonus, this would also allow community-created matchmaking websites, to an extent (that is, sites could be made with manually managed lists of lobbies/settings, and a link to join the game easily).
