| Description | Right, so these two are supposed to be machine gun like spells and here forest rage is way better dps wise even if damage per mana ?may? not be higher. I just remember in my play session realizing that plasma bolt became the new "fireball" in comparison to the other projectiles :-). | ||||

I still use plasma bolt quite frequently, for two things. 1. Its cheaper. In tight mana situations, I care more about mana cost and damage per mana than I do DPS. 2. It has good knockback, which IIRC, forest rage does not have much knockback. |

Plasma Bolt also travels a little further, and flies a little faster, but I don't think it's enough to really make up for it... and Forest Rage DOES slide on surfaces, so I feel that gives Forest Rage a fairer bit of an advantage. I'm not sure it needs much, if any, rebalancing. Plasma Bolt goes further/faster, and has better knockback. It's light element, which I feel (maybe its just my luck) has better usage with more enemies than green magic. Forest Rage doesn't travel as far or fast, but slides on surfaces and can quickly dispatch of enemies with few adjustments to aim, as it doesn't knockback the same. Green magic doesn't have as many constantly useful spells (Launch Rock has the arch on its aim, Leafy Whip is medium range) and Forest Rage is a good spell for its purpose. Damage is fair and equal between both, and they're almost interchangeable. Sure, Forest Rage has a small bit of an advantage, but just personally, I feel this actually doesn't need any balancing. |

I'm doing a lot of work on balancing in general at the moment, and you folks will be able to see the spreadsheets I'm using and the math behind it as of next version. Thus far the plasma bolt actually comes out about 50% stronger on paper than forest rage; but my formula may need tweaking. |
