Summary | 0008138: Mimics
Description | These would be monsters disguised as treasure, Enchant containers, chests and the like, but they would attack you when you get to close. They could be typically in stash rooms and maze rooms at the start, but as the continent tiers up they can be in any room in a building, sorta how monsters move zones at tier 3 is it? Dunno how feasible it is to have something like this, but would be pretty cool to get a surprise when you're not paying attention to the area you're in.

Mimics would work for chests and enchant containers, but I wouldn't want normal items to be able to be mimics. As to location, I wouldn't want them in stash rooms since the whole point of stash rooms is they're reward rooms, and getting done over by a reward being swapped out for a monster wouldn't be fun. Putting them in halls, attics, maze rooms, and so on would work though. |

I'd also like them to be blatantly out of place in some cases , but still having no sprite differentiation from real chests/enchants maybe so it can catch out the unwary? Also, are you thinking foreground or background? Because if they were foreground, they could also make them explode if shot or touched. Just a small blast, nothing nuclear. Background could also be good, but annoying if you don't have a background spell strong enough on you, though I guess the same can be said about the Lion Statue and Gazebos. |

I love this idea |

Yes I agree the smaller items should not be mimics, as some of them are hard to see sometimes. The only ones I'd like would be chests, enchant containers, illusion scrolls and crates, as they are the pretty noticeable ones. For background/foreground I guess they would just be touch damage mobs that are removed after exploding on you. Pretty much like mines in Freefall. They would be background monsters which would die in one hitI guess. |

A decent enough idea, as long as it isn't TERRIBLY common. |
