Summary0007859: A few tweaks for more platformer like Boss Fights
DescriptionSo I was sitting around thinking nostalgically about Megaman and Metroid boss fights and what made them feel so epic. If you think back to the days of Metroid, the way to beat a boss wasn't to just wail on it as hard and as fast as you can, but to figure out it's pattern and through artful dodging and hitting weak spots you could take it down. The reason the latter worked over the former was because boss hits hurt a lot and a few screw ups could cost you the fight. Right now all abilities happen instantly with no real way to guess what is coming. My suggestion would be to give boss abilities a buff in damage, but give them a graphical "tell" (particles or animations) so when you see it, you know to hide or plan to dodge. I suggest the buff to damage because it would force people to take risks and be more strategic in their actions. Granted in this game you don't have the comfort or safety of having multiple lives, so being totally unforgiving (like the Megaman Zero series) isn't really a good idea.
