I'm a little wary of placing tiers on a utility spell that doesm't really assist in combat. This is with the fact that there is also 3 other light spells, at least one of which is tiered, 2 or more light items that act as the "Higher Tiers" of this spell, and an enchant that can all fill this purpose.
Please, give me more imaginative reasons to want to upgrade spells, not just another light source. |

I think it's needed. Currently there's little reason to do anything but spam Flash of Light. |

I think the problem really is that flash of light is too good vs. other types of light. Either Flash of light should be harder to aquire, or it needs to be nerfed.
Perhaps if flash of light only creates a light source that does not penetrate solid objects, making large areas still in shadow? I don't know if that is possible with the engine as it is. |

Nah. Just make the other light stuff get better if you choose to research into it. The game should be more about exploring and less about fiddling with light-sources, IMO. |
