Summary | 0007812: Missions that affect your surroundings.
Description | Right now, in the way that AVWW works, your general mission is pretty much completely detached from what's going on in the game. You go into a mission, complete it, get stuff and something somewhere makes the enemy forces get closer to being stronger. There's not much feel of continuity. I propose adding mission types that affect their surrounding blocks, and because I suck at explaining I'll have to do it through an example. Imagine there's this "Skelebot Reclamation Center" in one of your blocks. Now, if you leave it alone, it's going to recycle stuff from the Junkyard and make more Skelebots, and those Skelebots are going to go on patrol in the surrounding areas. I'm not thinking of your average "three or four" guys patrol, I'm thinking something challenging - a boss sort of fight that you'd find randomly while walking near the SRC, with the appropriate message warning you when you go into the chunk and all that. If you're unlucky, you might even run into them during a mission and, depending on the mission, that could make it a whole lot harder. If you beat them, though, they're going to be dropping something. A single low-level material that depends on the threat's origin maybe, so it forces you to make a choice - Can I leave the building alive? Do I want the materials? Is it going to make my missions too hard nearby? If you decide to destroy the SRC, cue a hard-mode mission with enemies one or two tiers above you, perhaps even a special boss. I'm not sure of whether to make the mission give progress or not (I'm guessing either it gives only tier orbs and progress, or nothing at all, but I'm not sure what'd be better.) In any case, summarizing - optional missions that have advantages and disadvantages whether you do them or not, basically allowing you to choose which is the lesser of evils for your playthrough.
