Summary0007799: Bosses to spawn in deep dungeons and The Underlord
DescriptionAs a reward and incentive for dangerous exploration. When a dungeon tier is high, (definitely at LEAST T4) the chance for [main] bosses (purple rooms) can show up.

Enchantment farming just does not happen in caves the way it does in buildings, but adding enchantment material to caves would probably not be a good idea. The next best thing is for main bosses.

There'd be an obvious upper limit of one per floor, or even one per cave system if there's any progressive tracking in map seeding. Or, in the event a "Lower Dungeon Door" is not spawned, the boss room is spawned instead to act as a dead end or super cache.

In addition, this boss room has an additional perk - it's a super gem vein, containing 5 nodes instead of the original 3. Not that you'd "need" additional gems by the time you find a boss since you probably passed 30 treasure rooms to get there in the first place, but it's a nice bonus.

...

Still, they'd have to be very rare or very deep to offset the need to jump to a new continent to kill bosses.

On top of this, there can even be a hidden "Underlord". A map tile is randomly selected the way the Overlord is and one of the "Map Tile with Caves" is secretly an "Ominous Cave System" or something to that effect. Killing the Underlord would award 3 enchant boxes the way the Overlord does (or maybe just 2) and might award other perks I can't think of at this time.

I like this idea.

So the map tile with caves would indicate what square he will be in? If so, then that saves me a paragraph on needing one.

Having the 6 enchants from the Lt.s and Overlord are already a lot as it is. Maybe tone it down from 3.

Perhaps the Underlord can live in a flooded cavern and make use of that Giant Squid that they have the sprites for but aren't using.

I tend to get 20~30 enchants per continent before I even get to the Overlord, so I don't think it's imbalanced.

And ya, the map tile with caves would be purple like how an Outpost shows up. Only it's not advertised on the world map.

The Overlord has better enchants than regular ones usually. Or at least ones that are higher rank.

If there were no way to tell which cave has it AND which world chunk, people who actively seek this feature when it comes out will be unhappy.

Imagine how seeking the 10th level in swamp caves was for a lot of people, then imagine it being even worse. That's how I see it if there isn't any world indicators.

I meant there's no overworld indicator that the tile contains the Underlord. If you go into a map tile and one of the section is "mysteriously" purple then you'll know the Underlord is there.

+Like, you enter a map tile (excluding ocean), and you do a little exploring like normal. A few green tiles, a few light green tiles (caves), a red tile (minibosses) and even a surface secret mission...
