Summary0007781: Green Amoeba healing
DescriptionOk, I am not sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour but if it is intended my feelis that it should be made clearer.

It is about the green amoeba miniboss. Lately I have loads of trouble with those. Trouble like when it appears in a mission I abandon it because I know I will die anyway. I can pound these things to low health and then all of a sudden they are at full life again.

It took me a while to figure out why. There was no resistance > 100% on the thing itself. BUT the small green amoeba they spawn have a 200% earth resistance. I mostly use "Launch Rock" for the piercing effect and usually I don't care about the small ones, I want to hit the boss. But the hits on the small ones seem to heal the boss, making it very hard for me to do anything since my second range spell is fire based (75% resistance). So, effectively the boss is resistant to two elements.

Again, if this was intended my feeling is that the 200% resistance should also go on the boss itself, otherwise it is really strange that the same shot can damage the boss AND heal it if any minion is hit.

I have a thought about this, related to the 1.016 patch note:

    * Another issue was that for entities that pass the damage from themselves to their parent, that was not being synced properly in multiplayer from the client to the server or the server to the client, so that could lead to all sorts of oddities of a different sort.

Perhaps it's doing something like that, but in reverse? Passing element resist healing (Negative damage taken due to 100%+ resist) to the parent? I don't know how they're related in the engine so it's a guess.

If you are not killing the small amoebas that come out, that's why no damage is done. When you damage the main amoeba it bursts into smaller pieces. Kill those pieces or they will get reabsorbed into the main boss, putting it back where it started.

Hmmm... can it be that hitting the small amoebas with earth ("healing" them even though they should be at full health) increases this effect? I have observed the healing of the giant green one before and it is there but much less noticeable if I just ignore the small ones or hit them with other elements.

Again if all this is intentional then nevermind, but then I still think this boss is way overpowered, in comparison. I just fought one which was at Tier 3 and barely survived (my spells were at Tier 4) while I breezed through a fight with a giant blue amoeba which was at Tier 5 several cave levels down with the same configuration.

I think the problem is that when a small one gets hit with earth, and the small one gets hit, any healing is done directly to the boss, BEFORE re-absorption.
