Description | When generating the list of possible successors, discard and reroll a choice if one of the others is indubitably better, with all stats >= to theirs. If there's a tradeoff, that's a real choice to make, if one's better or equal in all ways, that's boring.
Because this might drastically improve the average character, this could be balanced by reducing the number of characters generated per era. Initially, have 4 options for the single unlocked era, then 3 generated for both eras once another is unlocked, and finally reduce to 2 each after three eras are unlocked, afterwards getting 8 total choices when 4 eras are open, and so on.
Add a line to make it clear which era the candidates come from, so selection is no longer "which is best", but "which will make <goal> the easiest with the spellset I have?" |
