Description | You can use a gate without entering it by clicking on the tile of the map you want to go to. This brings up an popup box asking if you are sure you want to go to that place. Normally, you cannot move when this dialog box is open. However, if you are somehow moved away from the gate while the dialog box is open, you can still press "OK". If you try doing this, some strange stuff will happen. You will recieve a "Waiting for Chunk" message for a while, and then you get teleported back to where you started. I've noticed some other strange things that happen as well, but I expect the game doesn't really want you to be able to do this in the first place. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go into an ocean cave 2. Find a teleporter suspended in the water 3. While falling through it, click on a place to warp to 4. You will continue falling past the warp while the dialog box is open 5. Click OK after you have fallen past the Gate 6. Bad things happen. | ||||

One time when I tried this in the ocean, I was attacked in the other room while I had the message "Loading Chunk" and the screen was black. I almost died without being able to see or control my character. |

Odd. I did the same thing (only with a will'o'wisp instead of water), and I turned out just fine... |

Ah, I forgot to mention, this was in a multiplayer server. Perhaps it is a desync issue? |

I can definitely see MP making a difference, if it makes a server-side check if you're at the gate when it goes through. Client attempts to move, server says no, client is left hanging in limbo for a while. Yep, pretty accurately describes what you're seeing. |

I've seen this in both single and multiplayer. Singleplayer it happens a lot when I am in the "warp gate room", and I jump up and click a dungeon zone to warp to. On that note, I propose a solution to the problem: remove the confirmation box from the warp action. So, you just click and go! Who really says "no" to that box? I never have as far as I can remember, and in any case where I presumably click the wrong box, I could just re-warp to the place I want to go! No downsides, and it fixes a bug. Sounds like a winner. |

Or it could just simply check to see if you are actually standing on the gate once you press "OK". |

Thanks! I've not tested this fix, but it _should_ work: * Fixed a bug where previously if you were falling past a warp gate and pressed the button to initiate warping, you could get stuck in a "Waiting on chunk gen" mode. Now it just warps you. |
