Summary0007538: Pickup animation interferes with character movement
DescriptionThis is something that's been bugging me for a while, but until now it wasn't really prevalent.

When the item pickup animation plays you lose control of your character for a fraction of a second. If you're picking up several items, it keeps sliding your character forward even though you let go of the movement key. I think this is something that detracts from the flow of the game and fluidity of movement.

At the very least I'd like to see this not happen from loot drops (consciousness shards and upgrade stones).

Edit: I found 0004483 in the database but it says it's been resolved. Not sure what that implies.

The fact that it takes you a moment to stop and pick up stuff makes considerable sense to me. I'm not really feeling inclined to change this one, honestly.

I was taken off a long platform and into some acid because I fought a Green Amoeba. Shards everywhere, walked into it, pulled me right off the cliff. Was hilarious! Now, that they don't drop doubles or, in the case of the Amoeba, anything at all, this won't happen again.

Just thought I'd mention it because it was funny.

Having C-Shards slightly attracted to the player (like health globes) would also solve this.

This issue no longer occurs in version 1.207. Well, I mean, the root issue still happens, but it no longer has an impact on gameplay.

Previous: Character momentum was maintained while picking up items, leading to a 'slide' effect.

Current: Character momentum is halted when picking up items.
