Description | I suggest the addition of a new enchant slot with an entirely new type of enchant. This is a special enchant type, each one only effects 1 spell, and it does it in a nontrivial way. It could either be a specific modifier for a specific spell, or draw from a list of "special slot only" attributes in addition to normal attributes. To list some examples of "special attributes": *Increased/reduced knockback *Added/removed penetration *Element shift *Slides on wall / Doesn't slide on wall *Movement speed reduction Now I will list a some made up examples of how these would work practically Creeping Death - removes wall slide, reduced range by 35%, halves cooldown Fireball - removes knockback, increases damage by 20% Forrest Rage - 1/3rd range, shoots 3 bolts at once Summon Rhino - Half duration, immunity to earth and fire element Summon Butterfly - Butterfly is on fire, deals fire element daamge Light Snake - Has no light radius, moves at triple speed Cleft Smoglet - Shoots up and down in addition to left and right, 35% longer cooldown Tidal Pulse - 1000% increased cooldown, 1000% increased knockback Storm Fist - knocks back enemy instead of player Miasma Whip - Loses piercing, sets enemy on fire Ice Cross - Does no damage, slow effect on enemies In conclusion, this would add a lot of variety to spells without adding new spells per se. I think that it would be best if each enchant had a static "special effect" that was handcrafted for and unique to that spell, while retaining the usual ability of random modifiers of a certain type. | ||||
